The Igloo and ExtrEMB Academy is a set of specialised, practical training workshops which will allow attendees to advance their modelling skills in a way which is tailored to their particular needs. The workshops cover a range of topics, focusing on implementation of specific general insurance concepts or on the fundamental skills required to use Igloo and ExtrEMB. Our training workshops are available for individual delegates or tailored for client specific group sessions.

Workshops Available:
Public and Private (tailored) workshops are available for all of the following
IG01: Foundations of Igloo Modelling (1-day)
This workshop introduces the most important features and key tools for building financial models in Igloo.
IG02: Advanced Igloo Modelling (1-day)
This workshop builds on the concepts introduced in Foundations of Igloo Modelling, focusing in part on different dependency types and how and where they can be applied in a model.
IG03: Effective Igloo Modelling (1-day)
This workshop covers all the necessary considerations when planning and maintaining Igloo models. It promotes the idea of ‘good modelling practice’, with emphasis on both the efficiency and transparency of models.
Financial Modelling Workshops
We offer 7 individual workshops that explore the key financial modelling concepts and their implementation. Choose from workshops on Reserve Risk, Underwriting Risk, Reinsurance Modelling, Economic Scenario Generation (ESG) and Asset Modelling, Constructing a Capital Model, and Capital Setting and Allocation.
Paramaterisation and Optimisation Workshops
We offer 5 individual workshops that explore two themes. These uncover techniques for best practice parametrisation of various components of financial models and also includes workshops on reinsurance optimisation and large risk pricing.

Details and Registration:
All public workshops are run from 9.30am – 5:30pm in our sophisticated training facilities in Epsom (unless you have arranged for training at your premises).
Private workshops can be held at our offices or we can run the workshop at your office. Whatever is most suitable to you.
Both public and private workshops will be presented in an interactive, hands-on approach by ‘best-in-class’ trainers and consultants. Each attendee will be able to follow along with the trainer on the multitude of examples presented. There is no better way to learn than through actual experience, so there will be many challenging exercises to further reinforce the concepts introduced. You will receive full documentation of each workshop so you can review the material presented at a later stage.
